Working with patients and families as advisors is a critical part of improving health care system quality and safety. Patient and family advisors are valuable partners. It’s important to have patients and families who represent a variety of clinical experiences as well as those who reflect the demographic diversity of those served by the hospital or clinic.

It outlines strategies for recruiting and keeping diverse members on PFACs and includes a number of practical tools.
